Amtrak and American Airlines
When you are looking for the tickets to go somewhere what are the factors you take into consideration? Is it price, or seats, or class, or maybe airline? For many people the airline is the critical factor. This is like watching the movies shot by a definite director you like. If there is some new fabulous movie shot by the other director, you just do not watch it. Or maybe you just hate flying and love traveling by train? Then this article is for you. We oppose an airline against the railway route. American Airlines versus Amtrak.
Amtrak. The first Amtrak train left the railway station in 1971. It is an intercity passenger train. Actually, the name “Amtrak” is a portmanteau word combined from “American” and “track”. Amtrak operates passenger transportation on 21,000 miles in 46 states and some territory of Canada. Those years when people traveled by train in the most cases fell into obvilion. This was the end of railway romance. But recent years were ones of the best in the whole history of Amtrak while its primary rivals – airlines – went into bankruptcies.
American Airlines. This airline was founded in 1930 and at the present time it is one of the leading airlines in the United States. It has a number of transcontinental destinations connecting the USA, Canada, Mexico and some countries of the Caribbean. “Something special in the air” attracts passengers on board of American Airlines. Besides, the company provides a number of great vacation packages in the offices of the airline and on its site. As many other airlines, after the 09/11 company had been in financial difficulties.
At the moment it is not so terrifying to fly, because a lot of anti-terrorist actions were undertaken and the level of security is the highest. But why do we have to abandon the amenities of the train? A train is something like a mammoth nowadays, it is dying out. We do not have to neglect the opportunity to take a ride on this almost fossil.
